Running skirt!

So starts a new week. Mondays always seem weird to me because I wake up and don't have to go to work, so I think I have the day off even though I know I have to work in the afternoon. It's a mind game! I woke up this morning and enjoyed some coffee before heading out for a short four mile run. I did a familiar route, but it was different this time because for this run, I was wearing a skirt! We stopped by Target yesterday to pick up a lazy Susan (that's me, har har!), and I've heard about their awesome workout clothes, so we made a detour to that section. Running skirts were on sale, so I had to try one on! The Rocket Scientist wasn't so sure of what he thought about running skirts, but he had to admit it looked cute! Purple running skirt...check! I was going to get a black one, but if you're going to be girly, you have to commit.

I'm not sure how I feel about the running skirt. It didn't feel much different than shorts, and I might have gotten some funny looks while running. I get those anyway, so it's not like it was anything knew! My roommate is dog sitting her parents dog, so I will admit that I felt cute when I took him for a walk around the block as a cool down from my run!

4.05 miles in 32:21, avg pace of 8:00

Short run, legs felt a little tired from yesterday's ten miler. Lifting + crunches when I got home, then I headed outside to read in the sun. What a life. :)

doin' time

Today's glorious meal is Zucchini and Chicken Salad. So good!! I definitely recommend this one. Sarah, you will not be disappointed when you get to it! I paired mine with some brown rice and watermelon:

Yum! So good.

Close-up because it's so pretty!

I can't wait for leftover tomorrow. :)

  1. Just read through your blog a little bit, it's great! I just recently got a run skirt too, and I love it, I also love that I could wear it out on the town easily as well..more bang for the buck!

  2. I saw some black skirts at Target the other day...but I'm still afraid. One of my running buddies LOOOVES them, and she can actually wear hers when she's not running, too.

I think I would have to stick with black in the beginning and gradually work my way into some crazy colors. You are brave for trying it, lol!

  3. I've tried running in a skirt. It's actually not that bad. A little breezy but I'm a dude, so I'm not used to it.

  7. I have been eyeing the running skirts for awhile now. I will have to get one from Target because all other brands run like $50! I just want to make sure the shorts inside don't ride up too much! Great job on the run! Have a good day at work tonight!

  11. Your salad looks great!

I haven't gotten up the nerve to wear my running skirt too many times. Maybe I should...it might feel breezy in this gross summer heat!

  12. I really don't have a comment about running skirts, but I hear from all the women in my running group that you either love them and have to wear it all the time or you hate them and never want to wear one again...so not really sure...

Hope you have a great week, running AND nursing!

So are there built in shorts in those running skirts? I can't gain the courage to wear one :-( I'm sure you look absolutely adorable in your little purple running skirt though! :-D

  15. I don't think I can pull off the skirt. I don't really wear skirts outside of running anyway! But there are many who can pull them off. I love zucchini!
